Confessions of a pregnant woman - week 34: Waiting for YOU

6 weeks to go (well give or take a couple of weeks). I've finally managed to hold my food for more than one day, which is an amazing feeling. I did throw up today, but it's been a couple of days since the last time so it's really a luxury. The dizziness is still lingering around and I basically need a rest in bed every second hour,  but I think I'm starting to feel it...the joy of pregnancy. I suppose it has something to do with the fact that I'm really excited to meet the little one.

We spent the last couple of days buying baby equipments and clothes, which has been pretty exhausting. And guess what, we are still not done. I haven't been sleeping very well so you could say it's been an extra toll on me. Nevertheless it's all taking shape and I guess everything is well worth it in the end.

Some days I feel like this:

Sweater from Gina Tricot, Jeans from Topshop
Other days like this:

But mostly I'm just looking ahead:

Someone else is looking forward to meeting the little guy too:

Monday's inspiration

I could have found another maternity wear inspiration, but since I have about six weeks to go, I've given up maternity wear entirely. I basically look big in everything I wear, picture an elephant wearing clothes. Therefore I'm focusing on what I can wear when I'm hopefully back to normal size. Zara has some amazing pieces at the moment and I'm gutted that I can't buy any of it, but crossing fingers that they keep up the good work throughout the year. Here are some of my faves:

Roadtrip getaway

Probably our last trip as a "family" of two. I would have wished for a more exciting destination, but as my bump kind of prevents me to fly, our final goal was Stavanger. Of course we plotted several stops on the way as I need a break from well sitting I guess (not a joke). We also had an overnight stay to and from Stavanger. Although I'm extremely exhausted, the trip turned out to be wonderful and much needed. Although I'm an overseas hopper, I'm really surprised of how beautiful this country can be, especially in nice weather.

Shellac part deux

I had my Shellac appointment today and I have to say that I'm fairly pleased with the outcome. The glossy finish is amazing and I love the fact that your nails dries instantly. The only pet peeve is that the manicurist didn't cover my entire nail. Although it's not noticeable the sides of my nails are not fully covered. I'm pretty sure it's not suppose to be like that. Will have to ask her when I have it removed in two weeks time. Excited to see how long the manicure will last.

Casio kids

This popped up in the mail yesterday. Such a bargain from Ebay. Only $28.76 dollars, less than 200 kr. Free shipping and everything.

Shellac

The last couple of months has been really stressful with the kitchen refurbishment. Although I haven't physically contributed that much, it's still tiring for a preggy woman in my state having to face the clutter every day. I am therefore looking very much forward to my spa manicure on Wednesday. This is another one of my birthday present. Felt like I needed to mention it as I really can't afford to having my nails done that often.

Anyway, I will be trying out something new, the latest rave in the beauty nail world, Shellac. Very much looking forward to it. Will post a pic on Wednesday.

Kitchen party

The last couple of months my husband has been preoccupied with mainly one thing and that is redoing our kitchen. I wish I could take credit for it, but it's been mostly him and for someone who has never done anything like it before it turned out pretty good. Better than good actually, just how I imagined it to be. It's officially my favorite room in the apartment. Today we invited a couple of friends over for a kitchen party / Baby shower which marked the end of a long refurbishing process or rather more appropriate the beginning of one of many lovely moments in our new kitchen.

Share the love

Although I'm kind of addicted to my computer and the internet, I've just recently discovered the world of youtube. Don't get me wrong, I don't live in the stone age because I have been watching youtube for years, but only if there has been a link to the site somewhere. I haven't actively been seeking out videos on youtube. This of course changed when I got pregnant, which you all know hasn't exactly been the 'glowing' type of pregnancy for me. But it's not about that, I thought I would share a little discovery for those few of you (mainly family and friends) who read my blog. If you're interested in beauty related materials e.g. makeup, body- and skincare, you need to check out http://www.youtube.com/user/AModelRecommends; British model Ruth Crilly's youtube homepage. As the name reveals, her videos contains beauty recommendations. She's not a makeup artist, but being a model for over 10 years, she certainly has picked up a tip or two. The fact that she isn't a makeup artist makes it even more interesting (and funny) to watch because she has the consumer's point of view, which is basically you and me. And she is painfully honest! Also check out her website: http://www.amodelrecommends.com/. Her writing depicts her personality (I would think anyway). I guess that's why I like her blog and videos because I reckon she would be so much fun to hang out with. As I'm sounding like a bit of crazy fanatic, I'll just stop here. Just thought I would spread the word.

Confessions of a pregnant woman - week 30: Wardrobe dillemma

10 weeks to go. Some periods it felt like time stood still, but luckily it hasn't :-) However the further I get, the heavier I become. I've never carried so much weight before and I can feel it in my legs, back and etc. And the more weight I gain, the more difficult it is to find something to wear. It's weird how they only sell tunikas and such in the maternity department. It's like there is this hidden agenda where retailers suddenly want you to become "sugary hippie sweet" because you have a bump. Well, I've never been a tunika person so you could say that I'm having a bit of fit at the moment.  So my maternity wardrobe mostly consist of oversized clothing: plain said, normal clothes just in bigger size.

Here is a pic of me on one of my very few outings where hubby manage to kodak the moment:

Ballerina flats from DIn Sko, chinos from Topshop, top from Zara, blazer from DKNY, scarf from H&M and bag from Mulberry.
