Family Bonding

January has been dedicated to family. Hubby has had the whole month off so we've taken the opportunity to travel to the west coast to spend time with his family. It's been very relaxing and we have even managed to squeeze in a date or two, making me realise how important it is to have grand parents nearby. Unfortunately we live on the other side of the country. It's the price we have to pay by living in the city. On the positive side I have amazing friends and a realiable brother who probably would love to babysit the little one. I guess I just have to be brave enough to ask...

Soul food

One of my fave past times is dining out. Post baby situation, dining out hasn't exactly been our first prioritize. Instead we try our best to add some gourmet food into our everyday life. Some recipes are more successful than others (or maybe it's the skill of the chefs), but most of the time it definitely has satisfied my taste buds.

An eventful weekend for the little one who was invited to a birthday party and went for a daytrip to Sandefjord. He didn't seem to mind all the activity as he slept whenever the opportunity arouse. Slightly more difficult task to get around with a baby, but we are getting the hang of it. It's great to be able to do some "normal" stuff again.

With that said, this post is suppose to be about my friend Arna's birthday gathering. She made some lovely cake that tasted like heaven. Together with some bubbly it was definitely a recipe for success.

Taste buds

My taste buds are back. I love food and it totally depressed me that I lost my appetite during half of my pregnancy and when I regained it I couldn't eat most of the stuff that I love like for instance sushi. Although it may not be gourmet food, our faithful local takeaway resto Ebi Sushi is our go-to place for sushi. Very convenient that it happens to be next door. Had some lovely sushi the other day that's worth a kodak moment.

And non alcoholic beverages for the preggies at one of my closest friend's 30th birthday bash. There were quite a few of us actually. Must be the agething. But the lovely hostess had thought about that and had bought in non-alcoholic wine and champagne. The weather was perfect and I thoroughly enjoyed myself, even managed to stay up until midnight. I hope the birthday girl had a blast. Browsing through the pics, it seemed like she did.

What I wore to the party.

Had a minor outfit crisis as the dress that I was suppose to wear was seethrough. So I was frantically looking for something else to wear in my closet which really isn't easy nowadays. Luckily I had this maxi skirt that I just wore as a dress with a belt. Worked out ok I suppose. Crisis averted.

China girl

Chinese takeaway taste so much better in these containers. I hardly see them here in Norway, but was over the moon when the place Sushiexpressen delivered the food in these lovely boxes. Takeaway meals has kind of been our staple diet these days as we are redoing our kitchen. And yes, one can actually get sick and tired of not being able to cook ones own meal. However, the little pleasures in life can make it better like these pretty containers.

Saturday stroll in the sun

This week has been a though week for me, both physically and emotionally. I was therefore very pleased to see that the sun decided to grace us with is presence yesterday. It definitely brightened up a rather gloomy week. Weekends also entitles me to venture out beyond my neighborhood as I sometimes need a helping hand on my outings. Hubby and I strolled around Grunerlökka, window shopping and people browsing. Spring was in the air and hoping that it will stick around for the long run.

We ended up at Bugge's eftf café which is my fave café at Lökka. Ordered chocolate cake and some coffee. The cake became too much for my sensitive stomach as I only had two bites, but it did taste good.

I also ended up buying something which I'm really excited about. Loving it. Watch this space to find out what.
